Im actually going to post a serious question, this is something that I've been wondering about for awhile. Why do you dab/tap eye cream, but you rub lotion? I tried asking the clerk at Sephora:
me - Why do you pat eye cream?
her - To get the cream into the eye area
me - Why not rub it?
her - rubbing doesnt work, patting gets it into the skin, rubbing will just remove the cream
me - so...should I pat lotion then? Why can I rub lotion?
her - Its just known, you rub moisturizer and pat eye cream
me - but why?
her - thats the way it is.

You pat the eye cream because the skin around the eye is sensitive. You could rub if you are gentle..

^ so what if it is sensitive, what can happen? When people rub their eyes, they are rubbing much harder than when they rub moisturizer, and our eyes arent falling out. *still confused*

you get wrinkles.. you are not suppose to rub your eyes either. It's just one of those things-- like you should exfoliate before you shave your legs.. It's what it best, but not all do it.

My sister's an optometrist and she says under no circumstances should you ever rub your eyes.

Also, PK is right about wrinkles, you put eye cream on to get rid of them/prevent them, but you're canceling all your hard work but rubbing that shit in.  The girl at Sephora should know this.

Ok...so rubbing your eyes will cause wrinkles. Then why rub the moisturizer? You get wrinkles around your forehead and mouth area.

You're technically not supposed to "rub" moisturizer anyway, you're supposed to smooth it over your skin.  And you can feel the difference between the crepe-y skin of your eye area and the rest of your skin.
It would basically just be a waste of time and product to pat moisturizer into your whole face
