Hey guys, Im currently doing my MA in London, Im Irish and I have no idea what the process is to apply to Universities in the US for phds. Can anyone give me some advice as to what the application proceedure is etc? Any and all advice would be much appreciated. Peace

3 letters of rec 1 statement of purpose 1 writing sample of 20-30 pages. GPA of more than 3.0 on the A-F scale. The Uni's in Canada are probably better for Anthro, worth checking out anyway. Then you won't have to go through the VISA circus.

That is a good idea. Look for syllabus online for topics that interest you. Look at the assigned reading list and then check which unis the authors are from. That will tell you where to look for people that are doing interesting work with your angle. Also use jstor and your library.
