I just hope may be they can put AWD on it or mid engine it or something to make up for the speed advantage of the GTR Ricer. Here is Road and Track showing hte GTR Ricer is FIVE SECONDS faster on a track then the Vette Z06. :( http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=31&article_id=6594

Too bad the ford RS200 (production car) was much faster.........in the 80s. Most will do a 3.25 0 to 60 while the evolution version has done 2.1 on more than one occasion with plenty of observers in attendance.

Ya that new Nissan is sick, I want one. 3.3 0-60 is fucking fast, and its a good car and could be a daily driver or a car to drive cross country.

Interestingly enough, Shannon Ritch also went 0-60 in his last 60 fights - all by way of tapout.

"lol @ ford" actually it's chevy but anyways all hail to the king, GTR. It may be a ricer but it smoked the V8 M3, 911, and that other car they put up against it.

It's good for the customer. Now American and Euro makers will have to step up and make something better, quicker and cheaper than the GTR.

said ricer goes for around 75K USD.. but with the depreciation of the US dollar and the to be expected dealer markup.. expect the car to be 100 grand when it first goes on sale.

Who would win between the Z06 and the GT-R in a race from 0-150 mph?

BTW, it is my understanding that the GT-R in the article against the Z06 was piloted by Steve Millen, who has been a Nissan driver for 20 years.  What would happen if they had Jan Magnussen behind the wheel of the Vette?

So yeah they made 200 of them to qualify it for the production class true. But not a true production car like the GTR imo.. wasnt ever sold in the US either.

OH and Power came from a 1.8 litre, single turbocharged Ford/Cosworth "BDT" engine producing 250 horsepower in road going trim and between 350 and 450 horsepower in racing trim; upgrade kits were available for road-going versions to boost power output to over 300 horsepower.

So was it  "road trim" or straight off the showroom floor version that is doing 0-60 in 3.1? I doubt it.. but admit I dont know. Can anyone clarify?

As for the car's styling, we like it, although there are others who feel that it looks too robot-like. But the bottom line here has little to do with the car's looks and everything to do with how it performed. Simply put, the GT-R is the most potent automobile to ever come from Japan, and will surely have manufacturers in America and Europe rethinking their ways. If it weren't for the car's $69,850 asking price (an estimated $72,880 for our test car) -- and the fact it wears a Nissan badge -- the GT-R might well be considered the most exotic car on the planet.

It was the evolution version that did the 2.1 second 0 to 60. That RS200 is just as available to the typical consumer as the GTR at this point. Also.........that car is partially responsible for being fast enough that the powers that be decided to cancel Group B racing. You guys know I will be the first here to get to drive the GTR.......possibly this weekend.

was the rs2000 ever available in the US dealerships?

So the stock 250hp version did 0-60 in 3.1?

One of the new magazine covers reads "GTR SPANKS z06 and 911 turbo" and it pretty much does! From the beginning I stated that the numbers don't make sense and one of the articles I read confirmed that the gtr is underrated when it comes to hp and it actually pushes out well over 500hp.
