Actually, that would be incorrect.

We have lovingly referred to it as the All-Army Event up to and including 2006. But, in 2007 the "All-Army" was removed. I am guessing because of MWR conflict and the simple fact it is not an "All-Army" sport.

Well whatever we called it this year, they aren't calling it that. Why why not call it by its original name, instead of "T.O.P. (Toughest Operational Personnel) Army Fighter"? Did Recruiting/Accessions Command have a role in that? Trying to appeal to the kiddies?

Because Operation is really close to Operator, and if you have any new video game you know that stuff is cool, makes you wanna run down to the mall and have some paperclip inventory specialist sign you up for the Army :)

My guess it is because it allows them to do a TOP (Marine/Navy/Air Force) Fighter in the future. It would also not limit them to only the once a year event, and they could do a show based on part of other Army events.

Check out the "Army Combatives Quiz" (I a not a huge fan of the picture for question #5)

Fort Bragg Combat MMA, Coach

LOL, I knew Matt would figure out a way to get "The Father of Modern Army Combatives" in there somehow!

Matt, you are the man!

Apparently I should be writing a book.

Maybe "The Can-Opener And You".

I am going to have to market it "Lloyd Irvin" style for you Jeff.

"See how Jeff Miller, the king of the Can-opener" can take your gameplan to the next level. I promise that 60% of the time it will work everytime!

Very nice, Jason.

In my defense, I don't do it nearly as often as I used to. I actually have another move.

But admittedly, its a neck crack too.

Preliminary and intermediate bouts have BDUs/DCUs/ACUs. Its our "gi".

Preliminary bouts are working for takedown and finishing on the ground -- no strikes. Win by points or submission, 6 minute time limit.

Intermediate bouts are limited striking (slaps to face/head, closed hand to body, kicks anywhere, knees to legs only). 5 point "must" system encompassing striking, takedowns, and groundfighting. Win by points or submission, 10 minute time limit.

Jeff,

I totally agree about the picture for Q#5 on that test. It would of been better if they could've made it a little clearer so we could see who was on the bottom! Just kidding, how's everything going brother? Still heading out?

I was in BOLC II when the show aired. All I got since then was, "Man, I can't believe you kicked the guy in the nuts like that!"

FWIW, MAJ Scott Rawlinson, S3 AFN South has gotten approval to put the show on AFN XTRA next season. So all you guys that are OCONUS should be able to see it soon.

Scott is one of "Us" We have been rolling for years, I get with him about twice a year when I am in Vicenza TDY.
