Lots of action and the usual drama exploded this sunday in the latest installment of New York City's only MMA show. The New York Underground Combat Leage "Any Given Sunday" brought to you by NYC's only MMA promoter, Peter Storm. Here are a few pics, the rest are up at www.mma.us. Leave your info if you want to attend or participate in the next show.

This show actually say a few decisions, which is uncharacteristic for the Underground. I think it speaks to the elevated level of the competitors, combined with more even matchmaking.

One fight was a unanimous 29-29 draw, which means that the draw round was scored as a 10-10. Only at the Underground, where UFC 1 rules are still used. Headbutting is a staple at the underground, and this show saw its fair share, along with some fingers in the nose, knees to the head on the ground, and clothes grabbing.

Why would UFC1 rules be used? Why risk the health of the fighters?
