Well the time has come for me to get a new set and i know there are a bunch of internet sites. I am looking to get the best deal i can on a high end set of irons.

Also after i order them can i get them fitted to me or do i have to go and buy them retail to get them fitted?

Go to a local sporting goods store or golf store and ask about a fitting (may cost you $10-$15). Get them to print it out or write down the specs. and then you can order fitted clubs from anyone you choose. I've found that the best fiment I've gotten was from a Ping certified fitment center (look on their web site for locations).

As far as web sites, The Golf Warehouse (tgw.com) always has sales going. Roger Dunn stores are always good too, as they allow you to trade in your clubs, for upgrade, for full purchase price, for up to a year.

Cheaper than Rock bottom Golf, the golf Warehouse, or Golfsmith.

I just bought a set of irons from them, with no problems.

Get fitted by a pro at a reputable place.

If you're a member at a club, start there.

def get them online. Don't fall to salesman pressure after you get fit. Go to a demo day to test out the new technologies

If you have an idea of what you want, let's say you like TaylorMade stuff, go to a demo day.

The guy running the demo day will know EVERYTHING about the clubs and will most likely have 20-50 possible combinations of heads/shafts/lie/length to try.

And don't worry about being pressured.  The guy won't be the one selling it to you.  You can get him to fill out the form for you and give it to you.  Just tell him you're ordering the clubs through your friend's store/home course/etc.

Big Pete - Where and when can i find a demo day?

 The interwebs are your friend.

Pretty much every company website has a "find a demo day near you" option on their web page.

If you are looking to get into golf for the first time, a used set of high quality clubs from eBay.

If you buying new, it's crazy to buy online unless you know that you are standard out of the box fit. Factory is always the best bet when bending lie angle, etc.
