just ask him. Also Hillary completed Bud/s hell week in 24 hours. Then heroically saved the downed chopper that airlifted her into bosnia for a Prisoner Snatch. both of these potential commander in chiefs had a stellar service record in Vietnam but cant talk about it because its classified.

its funny that the dems know neither candidate has an ounce of experience in commanding the military which like it or not is the presidents primary job especially now. Whether you like the war of think it was a bush oil adventure, someone has to finish this thing. So Hillary and obama are making up stories about shooting guns, rescuing pow's, and having terrorists over for tea. Yes, he likely just made a mistake but I can see obama being interrogated by his handlers,

NOW, you have to have someone who served in the military that is related. Scratch the Kenya thing, he's got another harem in africa, so you maternal side, .....Think, obama, Think.

"they are only offended by the truth."

True  The main stream media is down playing it...big surprise.  If it were Billary or McCain they would hammer them.

Did you vote for Bush?  If so, very ironic.

They claim that his great uncle who helped liberate this camp was named Charles W. Payne - and yet there is no record of a Charles W. Payne in the Army at that time. There was a Charles W. Payne in the Navy - perhaps he liberated this concentration camp from the deck of a ship? Funny how the 89th ID doesnt have any record of this guy helping out though....

Oh, Bubblebass. Is it hard being wrong so often? This kindly vet from the 89th infantry will help you out

http://www.89infdivww2.org/

From the front page of the website

Concerning the service of Mr. Charles Payne: C.T. Payne was a soldier in the 89th Infantry Division. He served in the 355th Infantry Regiment, Company K. The 355th Infantry Regiment was the unit to liberate Ohrdruf. Mr. Payne was there{/quote]

"Oh, Bubblebass. Is it hard being wrong so often?" - No, actually it comes quite naturally to him. Call it a gift.

"Yesterday he mistakenly referred to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald in telling of his personal experience of a soldier in his family who served heroically," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton this afternoon in a statement, which also clarified that the great-uncle "Served in the 89th Infantry Division that Liberated Ohrdruf, a Subcamp of Buchenwald, the First Camp Liberated by Americans, on April 4, 1945.""

that was in the fucking article. Read the thing before you make stupid threads.

Did he fuck up on the camp's name...yes, but most people wouldn't know what the fuck Buchenwald was, but they sure as hell know what Auschwitz is. Maybe he himself forgot the name of the camp and went with a sure thing.

It really isn't that big of a deal, confusing concentration camps that a uncle (or actually great-uncle) liberated during WWII. Mistake acknowledged, lets move on.

Obama said he would insert another brigade into afghanistan. That seems to be the extent of his military philosophy. How come he wont visit Iraq ? Even go with McCain who has been there 8 times in two years, his son is an enlisted marine grunt who already served and is retruning and his othe boy is in the naval academy.

For a man who wants to be commander in chief you'd think he would try and get some respect from the troops by at least visiting. I cant wait for the debates. What is your military strategy, senator ? Insert a brigade then .....surrender.

Why wont he visit Iraq. Shit even that plastic surgery chick pelosi has visited Iraq. He can hope all he wants to but he is going to be faced with hard decisions of which the hardest has been whether to disavow a racist pastor, whether to pin the american flag to his lapel. Its scary to think that a man with 2 years in the senate who's views are completely left by his voting record is going to command the most powerful nation in the world. He's never cooperated in across the  line legislation.

At least McCain has some ability to work with democrats and a clue about what to do with a 'brigade'.

Bubblebass and others of his ilk just want to throw as much crap at Obama as they can, in the hope that some of it sticks.

I don't expect him to ever apologize and admit he was wrong about this, even if it was 100% proven that he was.

jimmy, there is something in the govt, especially with the military communicating with politicians that gets garbled. Basically it has no meaning by the time its processed between parties. Of course they are going to protect him. Killing a senator, come on. That would be a major score. Being able to communicate not just with the military but the actual people in government positions is something a leader does. Obama doesnt want to go for the same reason so many entertainers wont go. They hate the govt. they hate the war and they think the troops are just a bunch of lower class citizens who are robots for Bush's army. Its an insult. Plus, he'd probably get booed by the troops and the insurgents would pledge their support to him.

I have no doubt Obama could help with some domestic legislation to help some of the disenfanchised but as far as foreign policy and making decisions about national security ( which by the way will face him daily with Briefs once to twice a day from the CIA, the Pentagon, etc ) he will have no clue.

Don't worry, if something doesn't pan out they'll just keep looking for something else negative about him.

his uncle liberated Buchenwald concentration camp.

He got the name wrong. Maybe he lied in order to pander to his audience or maybe he genuinely mis-spoke.

either way, his uncle did actually take part in the liberation of concentration camp in WW2.

LOL at the phony Republican outrage.

Leaders should go to Iraq imo. Obama despises the govt as it is. Sometimes with good reason. I think bi partisanship is necessary. he has zero history as a bipartisan. Zero. His wife clearly indicated her stance on America, she was only now proud of her country because Barak broke the racial stereotype and has made it this far in the election. The guy is a hell of a speaker. As I said, I like a few of his ideas. But he isnt qualified to lead this country. He cant get his stories straight because he is inherently a liar. Whether by his nature or the need to campaign properly, he just cant remember what he said when, then when he gets caught flip flopping, he just mis spoke.

Plus it is funny that he lies about his cigarette habit. He cant even tell the truth about that. funny stuff.
