i know this question has been asked before but i dont remember the answer.

how soon after you get your ink is it considered safe to start rolling(with a rashguard).

i got my outline done a week ago, and rolled last night.. I noticed where my ink was was still a little sensitive.. but my artist told me id be fine after 3 days to roll(with a rashguard).

did i screw up??

I usually took a few days off and did some lifting and cardio instead, depends on how you heal, how big and where it is.

2 weeks, trust me. no matter how you look at it a tattoo is essentially an open wound, often times a large open wound. two weeks is nothing compared to what you're going to have to go through if you get a staph infection, never mind how fucked up the tattoo will look afterwards.

it looks fine, i was worried that rolling early might somehow blur or smear the tattoo, but i realize that was pretty stupid.

It's not that stupid - if the skin is not healed enough to seal it, sweat can get in and leach the ink out. Trust me, I know. :(
