Nice.

Where is that? It looks like one of the rivers I fish.

Either the MS river, near Memphis, or the TN river, near Pickwick Dam. I'll ask him.

He said it was on the TN river.

He's had a hell of year. He's caught an 80 something pounder, a 70, a few 60s, etc.

BTW, thanks for posting the pic MachetePhil!

If anyone wants to see some more I'll put the tags/links up.

nice catfish. wish we had those around here.

we have channel cats around 6-7 pounds. 10lbs would be huge.

you can catch bullheads all day, though.

i fish in the alabama river for those big blue cats but for some reason (lack of rains i guess) the catfish here have gone down in size and numbers over the last three years.

Yeah, he throws back everything, no matter how big. Well, if it's something like >5 lbs. and he's fishing with someone who wants to clean them and eat them he might catch a few. He never keeps any large ones though.

Here's two more recent pics he sent me. IIRC he caught one on the MS river and one on the TN river.

MikeD - ttt for my to ask him his yearly total

170 fish and 2,082 lbs. I didn't ask how many times he went, but probably somewhere between 35 and 55, if I had to guess. He also told me he went 10 times and didn't catch anything.

The Turkey Sandwich - Prepared shad for bait?

Nope. I would say, but he's peculiar about specifics, so I'll leave it at that in respect for him.

I really don't know. We throw everything back, regardless of size. Probably nasty as hell though. From what I hear ideal size is 2-5 lbs.
