I'm wanting a new pick up and took home for a test drive a 2005 Tacoma X-Runner. Has all the kit, spoilers, etc. Only downside is that its stick (which I used to like but is a pain when driving with my kids).

Anyone have opinions/experience with this vechile? I don't care what CAR AND DRIVERS says...what does the OG think!

I drove that Tacoma home and I like it all right, but now I'm wondering about other options like the Ford Ranger or the Chevy Colorado (I didn't like how clautrophoic the cab felt in the Nissan)....

The Ranger is a dinosaur compared to other small trucks in the market today. I can't comment on the Chevy. I'd say Nissan Frontier or Toyota Tacoma are the way to go.

I've known a couple of owners of the new ones. They all had good things to say. Drove an auto and thought it was a decent truck. Enough that I'd probably buy one if I was in the market for a pickup.

You will love it. Toyota just bought my 99 back from me because of frame rust. I paid 8900 for it 5 yrs ago, put 100k miles on it, and they just gave me 12400 for it lol.
