ah, the "chode one" I was reading that dave ziser shoots entire weddings with the 18-200 on a 7D and was like, "damn...."

of course the 18-200 is no chode one.

I just find images turn out way softer and I have a lower percentage of capturing good shots on it. Which is why I don't break it out that often.

If I have to zoom in on something when shooting *I do mainly nature photography/macro* I just pull out my 100mm and use it with my 1.4 tele. I can't zoom in as close, but I'd rather be further back and have a good shot then be in close and have it look like garbage.

I'm just begining my collection, always owned nice point and shoot cameras. I see alot of Nikons mentioned, I recently bought a Nikon D5000, with the right lense is this camera comparable to any of the ones mentioned above?

go to lensrentals.com and read that guy's reviews - that's a good way to help decide.

My gear is mostly setup to shoot DH mountain biking, BMX, and other fast-moving sports.  Haven't had the opertunity to shoot any MMA yet.

2 Vivitar 285's hooked to pocketwizzards

99% of the time the body either has the 70-200 or the 17-40 on it.
