A girl I saw briefly was a live-in nanny. She had a disagreement with her boss back in september, where she was terminated, yet they told her they needed her until the beginning of November. Yesterday morning, they told her to pack a bag and get out and that they would send the remaining stuff in her garage apartment to her, so they could move in the new nanny. Can they do this since it's their home?

Landlord tenant law varies from state to state, but my guess is that if she is not paying rent, she does not have tenant protections under state law.  Did the disagreement involve whether she had to suck the dad's wee-wee?

No, though according to her, he propositioned her on several occasions.

They are also refusing to pay her final paycheck.

Basically the disagreement came about during hurricane Ike when the power went out. She called the wife a bitch.

She probably has to right to go pick up her stuff, rather then letting them mail it to her. Did they have a written or oral agreement?

Seems like she could tell husband to turn over the last check in return for being mum on he propositioning, otherwise it's probably worth contacting a lawyer.

You'd have to check for your state. Some states she would be like any other tenant and would have to have been given notice.

Holy shit.

She got her stuff back in boxes.

It was all smashed and nicely packed in with the family garbage.
