Last year I remember someone posting a suggested way to shake water weight by laying in a hot epsom salt and rubbing alcohol bath, and I was curious if anyone could hook me up with the info? How long to stay in the bath, How much of each ingredient?

Sounds uncomfortable to me. Make sure you don't have any small cuts or abrasions.

I don't have trouble making weight, just curious if it works. If it does work, who wouldn't want to spend less time in the sauna

A typical American bathtub is 20 gallons. At Walgreen's rubbing alcohol is $1.79 for a 16 ounce bottle. Even if you only filled the tub half way with rubbing alcohol that's still going to run you $143.20.

I remember it saying something like as hot of a bath that you could stand and epsom salt (don't remember how much) and I think like 3 bottles of rubbing alcohol. It might be something bogus, just wondering if anyone else remembers it or had the particular info.

Epsom salt baths are great for recovery. I can tell a big difference the following morning after tough workouts when I take an Epsom salt bath that night versus when I do not. I've never heard of the weight cutting/rubbing alcohol thing, though.

Here is what is in the article that cyberslinger mentioned, "the biggest trick I teach, which is a trade secret within bodybuilding, is before a contest (to make weight) or show, have your fighter sit in a hot bath - the hottest water they can handle - with approximately one gallon of Epsom Salt and five to eight bottles of Winter Green rubbing alcohol, (which is pored on the body). They lay in there and it sucks out all the subcutaneous water, while allowing the body to retain its intramuscular water. For bodybuilding purposes, if you sit in that for 30 to 45 minutes, pad dry it off, and go straight to sleep. When you wake up in the morning you will be shredded."

I've done this before, and it does actually work. It's pretty much exactly like madbomber stated above.

"Another trick bodybuilders use is to rub preparation H all over themselves.

It draws out subcutaneous H2O"

in case anyone wants to try this, the ingredient that does this is not available in the u.s. stores, i think, for a while now. unless things have changed which they may have. procuring the magical prep h that has a lot of uses should be done from another country.

please correct me if im wrong.
