Mechanical engineering, even if you don't go into that field people are going to be impressed that you have the degree.

Thanks Trust. I'm finishing up accounting right now and if it doesn't pan out, I'm going to be a very bitter man.

I've seen other lists where accounting is near the top as being one of the most employable bachelor's majors.
I do find it interesting that, at least on the list above, physics is higher than electrical engineering. And even a little moreso that mechanical engineering is higher than both.

When I got my BSEE in '91 a bachelor's in physics was basically unemployable except for teaching high school.  Even a masters in physics wouldn't get you very far beyond education.  But now it seems things are different.

Agreed that an accounting degree will put you in a great position to get a job right after college. Once you get experience and or the CPA license it will open up the door for virtually any industry/field you want to go into.

Good website for anyone interested in an accounting degree:

honestly bros, a lot of my accounting students get job offers after their summer internship before senior year

you know how much fun that last year of school is when you already have a good job lined up for after graduation

i hate accounting, but anyone that doesnt mind the tedious nature of the work can pretty much secure themselves an upper middle class lifestyle by working hard in their accounting classes, making an effort to talk to their professors and work one but preferably two internships (start unpaid 10 hrs a week if you have to). success at the internship really depends on showing up on time, dressed appropriately and having a GREAT attitude. a lot of bros with better pedigrees get left in the dust by my students because they think the entry level grunt work is beneath them.

Criminal justice undergrad degree didn't pan out the way I thought it would. I got my degree at one of the top 5 criminal justice universities in the U.S.

I graduated about a year and a half ago and the only work I can find is hourly security guard.

Needless to say... I hate my life and will probably resort to a life of crime

What's the moral here ? Kiss a lot of ass to the right people. An ability I've never developed. It's like I'm selling my soul or something. It should be based on merit but you can't compete with a good ass kisser.
