Dolls coming to life is a way bigger problem than ghosts. Seriously you have grown men shitting and vomitting in abject terror if that happened.

Seriously, the most hardcore sceptical cat would be shitting a dick if they saw a doll come to life and stab someone to death with a pair of scissors.

Youd go through every possible rationalization in your head of "this is a prank, its a robot, someone spiked my drink and Im hallucinating"

then when youve exhausted them all and are left with a cloth and plastic doll moving like a clumsy human being and cming towards you while verbally threatening you..........then what?

Frat- i guess... no ghost or ufo but fucking odd... my mom passed early aug this year from kidney faiure at age of 52... came out of left field and has been fucking hard...none the less... here it is.... we were cleaning out rooms in her house packing stuff to keep and to give away.... She was a college prof in art history... so we had lots of arts supplies and art books... so my wife packs a red xmas bag that looked unused and new with tons of new pens, brushes, paint tubes etc... I call my moms best friend to ask if she would like them... she drops by to pick them up. I get a call later that night and she was in tears... the red bag had one of those tiny gift cards and she wanted to re use the bag... she opened the gift card to see if it was blank and it was a note written to her... said thanks for the years of laughs and tears... your friend.... my mother.... I went to see the card and the note was her writing and i was blown away... of all the bags and shit we could have put the art supplies in... it was THAT BAG...

i know shes watching.... and that helped cement that...

Altair- thanks brother... Im 25 and can't imagine if I was younger... its been absolutely the most devastating event in my life....My sister and my wife helped out with planning my moms services... but the services were a friday and after the everything was done... i came home and was standing in her room looking at her favorite chair... and I had to duck because i saw what i originally thought was a bird or like a small orb of dull light- in the house coming at me out of the corner of my eye... So i ducked and looked to see where the bird was going and nothing was there.... that was my first ever thing that i would say was paranormal... then that same night... my sister got a text message with no number and no text so a blank text... she called verizon and they said its not possible bla bla bla... she takes her phone to the store and asks them to look into who sent her this text message at 4-5am.... so they look into her service record for that night and tell her she had nothing sent to her yet she had this blank message received.... so they tell her its impossible and not to worry about it... well she told my wife bc she didnt want to tell me(thinking id make fun of her) so i went to her and told her of the bird/light I saw the same night and we both believed it was our mom trying to communicate. Ive never believed in other stories ive heard but i can tell you now, I believe.... i just hope one day we will all be together again... thanks

 found it...

This is a terrifying case of a raggedy Ann doll named Annabelle. The case is from the 1970’s and is highlighted in the book The Demonologist. This is one of the Warrens most asked about cases. The referral came from an Episcopal priest. A somber toned clergyman told Ed Warren of two young nurses who had communicated with what they thought to be a human spirit. One of the girls’ friends had been attacked physically, and the activity was still in progress, so Ed accepted the case. With that the priest gave Ed the phone number of the girls. Ed immediately called the number and upon reaching one of the girls, Ed verified the existence of the problem and told the young women that he and Lorraine were on their way.

I used to love reading all this shit.

annabelle story is creeeeeepy, especially the part where the guy said he was dreaming that it floated up to his head and started choking him, demons are vile spirits filled with hate, I would imagine choking is the type of personal attack they like.

I know so many level headed people that have seen things, that I think 'who am I to judge'. Just as our knowledge of science or medicine improves over time, so will our understanding of the world or reality.

You would have been committed as mad 100 years ago if you imagined some of the commonplace things of today.

after seeing the original childs play when i was like 6 years old(was on vacation with family and older brother and cousins made me watch it) i had horrible thoughts about the "my buddy" dolls which were popular back then. i ended up putting them in storage. i had a dream where i woke up and looked at 1 where it was hanging on my wall and it winked at me.

I personally didn't but my cousin did when we were both very young. He's about 3 years or so younger than me and I want to say that I was probably 11 or 12. At the time our great grandmother was dying of a brain tumor and was staying at my grandparents house where I lived at the time while she passed. My two cousins lived in a town 20 minutes north of where we were staying, and I was staying the night at a friends house because my grandparents didnt want me to be around when she died so they suggested I go over to a friends without telling me the actual reason til awhile after. I can't remember when exactly they told me this story but, the older cousin (the one 3 years younger than me) woke his mom up that night to tell her he had seen our great grandmother tucking in his younger brother and was seemingly saying goodbye to all of them. No one in the house had any idea of her death at the time, and when she found out the next day she was freaked out. I get very "weepy" I guess you could say whenever I describe this story, not that I was super close with her or anything, it just makes me feel weird and like my eyes are watering up.

Crazy, my uncle told me a very similar story of when his grandma died....

angryinch -  This is an interesting one for me.

Yes, I have seen what most people would call a ghost.

I have also heard a disembodied voice, and had a witness with me.

No, I do not believe that ghosts exist.

So what do you call your experiences?

Why do I have to call them anything?  Why can't I just say that I don't know what they were, especially since I have absolutely zero evidence that they were caused by a ghost?

As has been said many times on this thread "I don't know what it was" does not equal "I know it was a ghost."
