Another item that might be worth stocking up on is paper, specifically notebooks and file cards (with cases). These will be vital in recording things that you learn.

What works, whats edible, weather patterns, mapping, history, blah blah blah.

Another thing, If I were you I would get a solar power supply. All though it would not last for ever, it would give you the ability to copy/record by hand important PDF survival info you have on your laptop.

Just some things to keep in mind.

I dont plan on packing any office supplies.

As far as recording things like "whats edible": I'm certain that once you eat the wrong berry, you'll know what it looks like for the rest of your life.

  I have a folder I have started that I fill with useful info.  Everything from hunting to collecting water is in there I also have most of it backed up on a flash drive.  Both are kept with my emergency suppplies.
