pissed all over my chips

i was hoping to see Wales V Ireland for the grandslam (got tickets).

Perhaps its now for the championship.

Or perhaps just another game.

French wankers.

Kind of knew they would do it, but really wished they hadn't.

I'm in the States so I don't have much perspective on how the 6 Nations is viewed in Europe, but can there be anything more humiliating in life than to be beaten by a bunch of Frenchmen at a contact sport?  I would think not.

Also, I watched the match on Setanta on tape delay and I thought I heard one of the announcers say something about that the French like to play home 6 Nations' games during the workweek (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) and that they traditonally did not play home games on the weekend like is common for the UK games.  Then I thought he said something about France would hold the games during the week and then call a national holiday so that people could go to the game or watch it on tv instead of working.

Did I hear him right?

Seg, you might have heard him right but he's full of shit.

Ireland vs Wales will still be for the Grand Slam, the only difference is that only one team can actually do it.

Go on the Paddies

What's the Grand Slam?  Is that a sweep of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England by one of the aforementioned sides?

No, that's the triple crown. The Grand Slam is winning all 5 of your matches and therefore the tournament.

Yes they can, but FnT, but in order to do it they'll have to beat Ireland in their last match. Given that Ireland will be one win away from their first Grand Slam since time began they'll be extremely motivated. It'll be an uphill battle.

LOL, I missed England vs France, believe it was an ass-whupping all the same. Scotland looked good for a while against Ireland, as did Italy early on against Wales.

Best half of rugby I have seen from England in an age.

They kind of switched off after the first half but i'm not surprised given they were 34-0 up at the time.

Still a lot of areas for improvement though. They gave away a tonne of penalties when they were under pressure for about 15 mins in the second half.

Some massive positives though - particularly in Croft Armitage and Flutey.

Thank God we beat them before they remembered how to play in that case. Come on Grand Slam, the last time Ireland did the Grand Slam it was still a pagan country.

Well done the Irish.

Great game. Would have been awful for pretty much everybody if Wales had got someone a bit bigger to kick that last penalty. The guy who was offiside must have been shitting himself

well done Ireland

Great game but the Irish had too much confidence and momentum for the Welsh to deal with.

Hard pill to swallow.

Gatlands descision to change 9 players comes back to haunt him.

7 points away from a grandslam and end up 4th as a result.

Quite painful.

Shit that was too close, a penalty with less than a minute to go?

I thought the ref was a bit harsh too, but he was from Gloucester which is practically Wales so it's not surprising LOL.

I thought about downing 61 pints in celebration of Ireland's first Grand Slam in as many years, but then I remembered that I have kids now and it wouldn't be cool for them to come visit their da' in hospital after getting his stomach pumped and almost dying because of Liver Scirossis.

'fraid so Sean, Daughter, 10 and a half months old. She has a step-brother, he's 6. I was bringing him to school rather than the baby... she doesn't go to school yet!
