I had an idea that could be helpful to everyone. Since we are all PCSing eventually I thought it would be helpful to know all the good training locals near major and minor military posts:

Ft. Eustis/ Ft. Lee:

-World Class Martial Arts: Too far for Ft. Eustis but I don't know anything closer to Ft. Lee. It is located right outside Richmond and they host Total Cage Combat (www.totalcagecombat.com)

-Odyssey Martial Arts Academy: (offers free training for military and law enforcement!!!!) about an hour drive from the base in King William, Va. They train BJJ, Muay Thai, Wing Chun Gung Fu and MMA

Ft. Eustis/ Ft. Story:

-Linxx Martial Arts: Multiple black belt instructors. Train BJJ, Muay Thai, Capuierra (sorry if miss spelled) and MMA-

Gustavo Machado: Train BJJ under Machado!

Suum Cuique in Mainz-Mombach. Great group of guys, hard to find. Don't be surprised if no club dues are expected in your first year.

Suprised no one has responded back to you on this. We have a big club in the Belvoir Area.

Good training, military focused, most of us are in the Army/Military and we are hooked into the MACP well.

Other thing, we are cheap! Get with me if you need further info.

This is the school I go to. Is not too far from Schofield. If your at Shafter, I suggest ICON Fitness and MMA. This is TJ Thompson's school where Chris Leben teaches. I like the school other than the fact that it is on hte far side of Honolulu and the traffic is too much to deal with from Schofield.

OK just a correction here- I've just found out that ICON went out of business. Apparently Chris Leben is opeing his own gym, but I don't have any details. Sorry for the confusion but I've been off island for a few months.

I finally found a gym near Fort Jackson. Looks to be a very solid program, and fairly cheap. It says they have military discounts too.

I am not sure exactly where the school is. Get with SSG Kennicker. You can find him in 2nd batt S-3. He can tell you where to go

Training at Coastal Combatives.

Garth Spendiff is a black belt under Relson Gracie and teaches 90% of the classes here.

The training is a lot cheaper than I have found anywhere and the instruction is the best I have ever had.
