Coach Sonnon,

I've purchased your Mastering the Saddle DVD set, and I'll say it was worth every penny spent! My leglock game's entry and finishing rate has gone up at least 50-60% Due to me looking to attain the Full Saddle, Side Saddle, Rear Saddle, or Reverse Saddle instead of just looking for a particular lock while rolling. I however have just a couple of questions that I hope your not to busy to answer.

1) I'm highly interested in purchasing your Mastering Sambo for MMA, but I was wondering how much of the stuff that is in that book is *NOT* on your DVDs. I'm sure the book is an awesome work of art, im just a poor college student so I must spend every penny wisely. Do you cover more Saddle entries than shown in the Mastering the Saddle 5 Disc set?

2) Please correct me if im wrong, but I didnt see too much in Mastering the Saddle as far as transitioning from Side Saddle, to Full Saddle. As you mentioned in the DVDs you'd much prefer Full Saddle, I was just hoping that you would show some sort of way to switch your leg position in order to get there. Is there something on that set that shows this? If not, is there some material that you've made somewhere else that shows this?

3) Will there be any difference in material between MMA Uncaged: Sambo for MMA (5 DVDs) and Mastering the Saddle (5 DVDs). I noticed that they both have the same description, just the Uncaged book has a cheaper price tag.

Thank you very much for taking the time out to read this

Thanks for the great words and congrats on expanding your game with the Saddles.

1. Mostly theoretical, so stick with the DVDs if you must choose, and don't need theory and history.

2. Check out MMA Uncaged for this.

3. It focuses more on the submissions than Mastering the Saddle.

best,

ss

Coach Sonnon,

Is MMA Uncaged available yet? I went to htttp://www.rmaxinternational.com and I wasnt able to click on the link. Budovideos has it on pre-order right now as well. If it is available, i'd like to order it now.

Coach Sonnon, what would you say are the most common mistakes made during a failed straight (achilles) anklelock?

Failure to have proper control of the upper leg and as a result lacking control of knee flexion, which releases the fulcrum on the ankle.

Failure to hold the first 3rd of the forearm just above the calcaneus at a perpendicular angle.

Failure to pinch the elbow to ribs before rolling the shoulder.

Failure to roll the shoulder before arching the back.

Failure to apply the hips before arching the back.

Those are a few.

Thanks Scott, great info.

I have two questions?

If I pinch my elbow to my ribs doesn't that change the perpendicular angle of my forearm to the leg to about 120-130 degrees?

Also, why is the order of pinching the elbow first then rolling the shoulder important?

I would love to see a series similar to Mastering The Saddle on armlocks and chokes.

Dez,

I explain this in my video (the 1st DVD) and the book. Do you have either of them?

Scott,

I just recently received MMA Uncaged, and its a GREAT DVD set! You should honestly see if you can package Uncaged, Mastering the Saddle, and the book together. It just doesnt seem right to have one without the other, because each has details that feeds to the other.

Was this your goal (piecing things together seperately) when you were releasing your instructional material?

Yes, it was, because it would just be cost prohibitive to place everything in one DVD or medium (book/DVD). Thanks for seeing behind the madness!
