I do have 89 street fights under my belt that were true NHB matches...not these silly glove wearing, weight class having, time limit round abiding "MMA" matches.

Vale Tudo = "Anything Goes", MMA plus head stomps, headbutts etc.

To generalize vale tudo like that is pretty ignorant. That's like saying "MMA = poor striking and gay mohawks". It isn't a specific fighting style. It's just MMA that hasn't been wussified to adhere to modern rules.

I did notice countless mohawks at NAGA. It's spread from MMA to grappling in general.

Mohawks have been the rage @ tournaments for a while now.

BTW, how did Triad do? I saw a dude wearing a Triad shirt but I didn't get to watch him compete.

It is believed by most historians that the 300 man army of the Spartans was 150 homosexual couples. Some historians believe that this is why the army was so successful, because for every Spartan killed, his partner fought with even more ferocity. To address your thinly veiled shit talking however, Spartan Fitness is just the name of our gym, and this is not ancient Sparta...besides Salter we dont have any openly gay competitors. Not that there would be anything wrong with that.

Strangle, it wasn't really shit talking towards Spartan Fitness....just more of a shot at the guy who was making gay jokes about Triad's vale tudo. His posts may have been deleted before you saw them.

Outlaw, Triad did pretty well. Here are the results I remember:

-Daniel O'Brien won 1st in his no gi expert division and 2nd in his advanced gi division.
-Matt Ward won 1st in his expert no gi division.
-Kent Waters won 3rd in his no gi expert division and 2nd in his gi division
-Stephen Willhite placed 2nd in his beginner gi division
-Phillip Woodfin won 1st in his beginner gi division

Several other people placed as well, but I can't remember their names and divisions though.

Me personally, I got squashed by a huge man and Americana'd. Superheavyweight division sucks like that. I was actually one of the smaller guys in my division. I didn't expect that.

Congrats to everyone who won. That means Auburn, Childersburg, & Cullman cleaned up the divisions they entered. I saw some people from Huntsville there but not sure how they did.

LOL. Did pep get banned?

I saw one guy from Childersburg get 1st in his intermediate division. Daniel went up against a guy from Auburn in his division. I believe that guy got 3rd.

I really enjoy seeing people from schools in Alabama beat out people from big schools like Gracie Barra. Unless they are competing against a guy from Triad, I always root for the guys from the local gyms.

Auburn had 1 student compete. He won 1st & 3rd.

Childersburg had 2 students compete. One guy took 1st & 2nd, & the other took 2nd twice.

Cullman's list is posted above. I'm assuming that's everyone who entered.

All competitors placed top 3 @ NAGA. Unless you're 30+yrs old or 105lbs, the divisions are pretty stacked. Impressive. It's good to see so many people from this state competing. Really seperates the quality schools from the "Teams".

Rule of thumb regarding MMA/BJJ/Grappling in this state: if a "school" starts with TEAM, they suck.
