If it's the one I am thinking about you will be right downtown at Queen and Spadina, about a block from where I work.

Saturday is the marijuana march as well, so there will be about 20,000 gathering at Queen's Park and blazing. Bands outdoors, march, all that kind of jazz...so downtown should be smoky!

Maybe I'll try to go down a little early and look for your bus, or try to wander up into the away supporters section. I have to imagine they are going to lock you guys in for a while after the game.

Looks like Everton FC is going to be the opponent for the Allstar game.

MLS ALLSTARS 3, EVERTON FC 2 at FT is my prediction.

Man, they were not fucking around.

As soon as we got off the bus the GM and Director of Security met us and laid out exactly how it was as far as stadium rules, how were were to enter and exit, all that stuff. So we stood by the bus surrounded by police. They escorted us into our section and had 3 cops that stood there the entire time.

I was so hammered by the time we rolled in though lol. The game was a blur. Chatted up a lot of people while waiting for beers and had a great time.

After the game, they lined a billion cops around us and escorted us by the pitch and straight into a fenced off area and onto the bus. It was by far the most organized stadium I've seen. It was nice to see even if a little overbearing because nothing stupid happened.

Don't remember too much from that night other than I somehow ended up at a strip club called For Your Eyes Only. Thankfully my gf kept my spending in check, but the can't be said for my mate Tommy lol

Yeah I tried a couple times to get near your bus and up into your section but cops and security stopped me every time thinking I was looking for a scrap. Since the Leafs tanked again, most sports media seems to be trying to do whatever they can to paint us all as hooligans. Enter a new security firm for the stadium, and way more cops this year.

Regardless, glad things went smoothly for you. I heard a couple people had problems at half time with some frat boy types touching shoulders and whirling guys around just to be dicks.

lol @ For Your Eyes Only! I wondered if you guys would hit that considering where you were staying. A little more upscale than a lot of rippers here, but not the same kind of options either unless you are splashing out large. The other extreme is the House of Lancaster at Lansdowne. They have wood chips down on the floor to soak up all the spunk from the open ten dollar hand jobs.

You guys sounded great for the US anthem. I was pretty amazed that I could hear 50 fans from the other corner of the stadium down at field level. You guys got a lot of applause for that. We love it when there is a vocal away crew. Really helps to bump up the atmosphere.

Hoped you liked the weather. No joke, it rains like that every time the opening whistle is blown.

Ah, the frat guys. Those douches nobody likes? Not surprised. If you go to our BigSoccer forum and see one guy getting made fun of a lot, odds are it's one of those from that group. I apologize because they're an embarrassment.

That weather... oh man. I had a tshirt on and my jersey as well as a hoodie. Somehow my gf ended up with the hoodie (funny how that works) and I froze my balls off for about 20 minutes. Then it got relatively warm. Surreal lol.

Big fan of your women! There were so many fitness hotties out for that race the next morning

LOL, I was talking about our frat types being dicks but I guess every city has them! Hopefully one day they will all cancel each other out.

Regarding the weather, it's so weird right down there. It can be sunny and warm everywhere else in the city, but the storm clouds just seem to gather there. It was pretty nice when it warmed up though.

Not sure which race you are talking about it, but Toronto is pretty good for women because people come here from all over so practically every niche is covered. You certainly would have noticed this if you leafed through the backs of any of our free papers and checked out the escort ads!

Anyway, the Trillium Cup is still up for grabs!

I'm going to try to. Originally the supporters groups were only looking at one Columbus trip this year. I think a second is pretty well guaranteed considering.

Just read a worrying blog about MLS TV numbers last season.

http://www.majorleaguesoccertalk.com/mls-tv-ratings-worrying/505/comment-page-1/

Doesn't appear to be any growth at all, in fact, almost the opposite.

Will Soccer EVER get a foot hold over here?? I fear it will be a fringe professional sport forever at this rate.

Yea, the tv numbers are always sad. I think the footholds are in the new franchises in different areas, growing attendence, sponserships etc.

The clubs themselves have been slowly gaining returns (all predicated on owning their own stadiums), which is the flipside.

It's frustrating that it isn't happening sooner, but nobody said it would be easy. One thing the league has proved is that it isn't going anyway. Hell, even 6 years ago you had major journalists saying the league wouldn't last.

Crappy TV coverage is one of the primary reasons why it isn't taking off.

For TFC, most home games are covered by CBC (our big national network) UNLESS a hockey game is on, and then it will either be joined in progress, aired on tape delay at some awful hour, or shown on CBC Bold, a station that very few people know exists, and is also a specialty channel.

TFC away games are shown on GOL TV, a specialty channel. It's cheap at $3 monthly, but honestly it's the only reason I have the channel. The rest is all footballers wives for the most part. Not really true, they show the Bundesliga as well which I enjoy.

My only option to watch non TFC games is through online streaming. As such my Spanglish is really taking off. You should hear me yell GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

In Canada it is huge in terms of numbers of people playing though. Last year was the first year that football numbers for youngsters surpassed hockey. I was astounded!

Oddly womens football has always had great support here; that's actually one advantage North American women have over a lot of the world is that there isn't the same stigma to play. Ironically, it has also largely cast the game as a woman's game here. Most people that haven't watched it assume it's a sissy sport, and are full on shocked at the amount of contact there actually is.

Exactly the same in the States. I play in a Co-ed league on Sunday nights, I tell people back in the UK this and they laugh because they assume the women must be horrible. Which in most cases isn't true as most college players keep on playing and end up in these sorts of leagues. It's funny, I think a lot of them would be completely shocked by how good some of the girls are that I see playing.

I particularly liked the two girls one cup banner they brought down to Columbus.

Anyway, not great shots but I took a couple of your away section from across the field just before kickoff. They are dark and grainy but it was the best I could do.

Nice shots, man. They remind me how damn cold I was haha.

I was really sick the second half of this week and through the weekend, and missed my first game in a long time. Of course we play our best soccer and win lol. Figures. It was weird sitting in bed cheering on a home game.

I recently started seeing this girl seriously, and she hadn't missed a game at all until that last one (she was sick as well and watching it with me). She's turned into quite the MLS fan. Seeing her make fun of Blanco makes me want to ask her to marry me lol

Yeah I've only watched a couple home games from the couch and it does feel really weird.

That's awesome your girl is into it as well. Mine also watches every away game with me and comes to every home game. The Blanco thing is especially funny because last year I was incredibly proud of my girlfriend when she yelled for Blanco the humpbacked fuck to skulk back to his bell tower.

the name and colors of the new Philly team get revealed today. Early reports say they will be called "Philadelphia Union"

And so MLS continues their tradition of rubbish club names
