please read. so the other day my now ex girlfreind popped on me that she wants to leave. with our 8 month old baby. I had no idea. I work hard, and I love my son. But I can not afford what we talked about for child payment.

I fudge the numbers all I can. I talked to a dealership about trading my car in and its just not worth it.

so, I currently take home about 720 a week, my ex-girlfreind will be leaving soon (I think in may) and breaking a year long lease agreement for a 2 bedroom apartment 1250 a month. She is going to take 190 a week, and according to that stupid mass thing she could get 254 a week from me.

I honestly have fudged the numbers, gotten rid of all cable, phone, and everything else I can think of, had a food diet of romain noodles, and I cant get the budget to balance.

Do custody courts take into account your current living expenses? Do the courts want you to break you lease and live homeless in your car in an apartment to pay a custody payement? seriously?

"Do custody courts take into account your current living expenses?"

Yes, there are a number of things they take into account, income, expenses for the kid, etc.

"But I can not afford what we talked about for child payment."

The court sets payment, not the chick.

not in Mass they don't. you fill out endless forms about this, and then they give you the exact same formula they give evyone else - 25% of your gross. the judges are not allowed to deviate from the formula more than 2% without writing a special report. rarely happens.

the only expense that they deduct is your kids Health Insurance, everything else is irrelevant.

Gannon - Nobody pays for health insurance in Mass. Everybody is on Mass Health in the Socialist Republic of Massachusetts.
