Everytime I try to go to a ceremony I start blubbing and have to go home. How do you guys cope with observing ANZAC Day?

blakGSR - blubbing?
When I think about all of those guys it's just too sad. When I think about Great Uncles on both sides in various camps, from Changi to Singapore I feel anxiety, like I'm in there with them and you have to survive somehow... Awful. One day my Great Uncle Norm picked up my mum's flute and tuted this tune, threw it down and said he never wanted to hear it again. It was how they signalled that the way was clear to swap stuff with people outside the camp in Singapore.

I had a great march this year. Got to wear my grandfather's medals, and my dad's as well. Always such a fun day.

Until I nearly got in punch-on with Navy boys :(

Dawn service at the Canberra War Memorial, in full ceremonials nearly brings me to tears. Moving stuff.

Sure is. Last time I went into the city (and had to go home soon after) I saw a small bunch of guys dressed like Mafioso and wondered why and then heard someone talkinga bout how he wore a suit out of respect the first time he went in with friends and then worked out why there were wearing dark glasses... It's al good.
