For anybody interested, my instructor, Tuhon Carl Atienza, is coming out with a DVD series on the AK knife curriculum. I haven't seen the series yet, but based on my knowledge of the curriculum it will most likely cover proper targeting for the feeder (guy with the knife), feeder counters to common knife defenses (someone trying to grab and control your knife arm), receiver (empty hand guy) trained defenses including tapping, stripping, locking, and striking and the way all of these blend together, etc.

Here is a clip.....

Here is a sword clip simply for your enjoyment.....

And an eskrima clip.....

Cool. I like what I've seen of Atienza, and I like knife technique DVDs. It's hard for me to find or afford good classes here in the sticks.

Will they vbe selling the DVD through their site?

Willybone,

I sent Tuhon a text today and he said he is trying to get the video out by next week but has to see due to editing and all that stuff. Whenever it comes out, it will be available on the website in the online store.

Also, I'm not sure if you are interested but there is an Atienza Kali training group in Bristol, CT. I'm not sure what they charge or if they teach the eskrima curriculum (for us Atienza Eskrima is the stick/blunt weapon curriculum and Atienza Kali is the sword and knife curriculum) but if you are interested in stick training it would be worth checking out. The training group leader's name is Rich Smith and you can contact him at 860-589-7500.
