I purchased a new guitar over the interenet and I seem to be getting a lot of feedback when plugged in. It is not the cable, as I tried two different ones and both work fine with my other guitar. I was planning on getting a setup for the guitar and was wondering if that could solve the problem or is it something more serious? I was not sure if it was just the pickup height or if the input on the guitar was bad or if it could be something else.Thank you for your help

Also, the new guitar has a SSS setup and positions 1,3, and 5 are pretty bad. Positions 2 and 4 are much better. The old guitar has a HH setup.

How close to the speaker are you?

It could be the coil squeal feeding back directly rather than string (good) feedback.
