Well that was a bit shit.

PLuses - Byrne and Bowe

Bit early to say but I think Lee Byrne has done himself no harm and Rob Kearney is going to have to be pretty awesome when he plays.

Bowe also played really well I thought

The pack. The scrum looked pretty good and the rolling mauls were pretty good

Minuses -

That was poor for an opener against a scratch team made up of 3rd division players

Earls - That selection is looking like an absolute shocker now when Armitage didnt make it on to the tour

Blair - No danger of him challenging Ellis or Phillips Id say given that his opposite number absolutley terrorised him

O'Connell - Didnt really have the commanding presence on the pitch you need from the captain.

Back row - That had two guys supposedly challenging for test spots (Williams and Worsley) and was pretty anonymous.

Defence - frankly shocking. The tries were all soft tries that should not have been given away.

They are going to have to seriously step up their game

I thought Jamie Roberts was the best player on the pitch.

Only Tommy Bowe, Jamie Roberts and David Wallace retain their places for the match against the Golden Lions.
