Just wondering if anybody knows what the average age for a male Alaskan Malamute is before they pass away?
My dog King is 13 years old. I know his day is coming, but any time I think he is wearing down and getting sick, he'll just pull through. About two months ago he wouldn't eat, wouldn't get up, wouldn't go outside. Slept all day. Now he's just back to normal.
A few years ago he had to have his testicles removed for health issues(forgot exactly what it was but a cist or something popped and it was bleeding all over the house). His face is all scarred up from encounters with raccoons and possums. And he's had a bump on his upper back that the doctors have no idea what it is.
Just want to know when I can expect to find him no longer with us.

average life span is somewhere between 114-178 years old. he'll be in the family for generations.
seriously though 14-15 is very very old for a large breed dog.
