I'm trying to find a MMA/ BJJ gym near Ft. Rucker. I will be going to Army flight school as soon as I'm done with OCS and I want to continue training while I'm down there. I would really like to train with Triad but I'm afraid it will be too far away. Does anyone have information of a "start up" school made up of Triad students? Thanks for the help

The only Triad schools are in Cullman and Madison.

Have you checked with the MACP on base? Contact Matt Larsen at Ft. Benning for the local Combatives group.

www.mmadothan.com

There is a very solid Machado purple belt teaching BJJ there, as well as 5 or 6 blue belts (and a ton of white belts).  Also a boxing coach who has coached 3 world champions.  Not much as far as MMA or BJJ in this area, so definitely worth a look.

AFC BJJ has a contact down in Dothan dont remember what his school is but he has some machado affiliation. It may even be the same as above because I know they also had some boxers. his name is mike n. and he is a solid blue...don't know what other belts they have. I do know that Joe has his contact info if you want to get in touch with him, you can get joes email from our website.

Thanks for the responses. I'll definitely check out mmadothan and I'll see if there's a local combatives club (it would be fantastic if I could train for free!).

countrypimp: Thanks for the offer for inside scoop. I'll give you a call shortly.
