My brother just finished his active duty in March, did 15 months in Iraq, and might/probably has a concussion (or three) due to roadside bombs. He's expressed a little interest in BJJ/MMA, but is sweating the boxing a little because he doesn't want to take too many more headshots. He'd prefer MMA because he already has a boxing background, but it isn't worth risking further injury. Any advice? Thanks.

He should get screened for MTBI or whatever its called. We had a dude get a couple of concussions from ieds and he was always fine. Three years later he died of brain damage. He really needs to get checked for that before he does anything. I don't want to freak you out but it's the reality of the situation....

TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)

And i would reccommend one ASAP...

Ive been out of US Army for 3 years now (30% PTSD/IED concussed)

Im an active ammy fighter and BJJ practicioner...

No incidents yet and as far as I know.. I have the hardest head to punch in the gym... MMA has definately supressed my PTSD and is an outlet for me...
