I've been visiting all sorts of strange, bizarre and unusual places, sites and things this last year, all around where I live, and I have plans to travel around a bit for the remainder of the year.  When I say weird and unusual, I mean anything strange, from museums to statues to odd festivals and so forth.

I've pretty much exhausted MOST of the interesting places in Arkansas and Oklahoma - I live in Tulsa, OK - and have been delving into southern Missouri as of late.  I've seen everything from giant soda bottles to 30' foot muffler men to bowling ball fences to gigantic statues of Mr. Peanut to junk museums to chow-chip throwing festivals to totem pole parks to... well, you name it.  All kinds of weird, bizarre crap found on the roadside.

What I'd like is your advice, oh OG brothas, on new sites and things to see in my travels.

Here are the places I'll be headed to for the remainder of this year:

Lincoln, NE

Houston, TX

Katy, TX

The Grand Canyon, AZ

New Orleans, LA

Las Vegas, NV

Also, since I'm driving from Tulsa, OK to Lincoln, NE and have a few days to spare, I've decided to make it a roadtrip of the weird, so anything off the major roads between those two cities would be a find.

I've used www.roadsideamerica.com as a general site for information, but it's not close to listing everything.  Even the slightest weirdness would be appreciated, if you have a tid-bit or two to throw my way.

Anyways, you get the general idea.  ANY help or advice for along the way would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

if you're driving down into texas, check out the stockyards in fort worth. you could also hit austin for a night and see 6th street.

not really weird, but the stockyards are pretty cool.

New Orleans has several haunted bars in the French Quarter.

http://goneworleans.about.com/od/nightlife/p/hauntedbars.htm

There are also two bars in the Quarter where you can ride bears. Napoleans's Itch and Cafe Lafittes in Exile offer bear rides to tourists, and the first one is free.

There's also a bar on the edge of the Quarter at 700 Rampart called the Ninth Circle of Hell. If you tell the bartender, "Irish Mike sucks dick" , you get a free drink.

Take a ride on the streetcar, too. There's an old tradition here that if you take off your pants on the streetcar, the city pays for your overnight accomodations.

 LOL @ martinburke

trampking - I'm going to Katy for my son's birthday party and then over to Sugarland, TX - which is nearby - for a Royler Gracie and Leonardo Xavier BJJ seminar.  I figure I can kill a day or two on the way back seeing weird shit as well.

Beezelbubba - Centralia?  Where is that?

Mr McFeely - There's all sorts of places in Amarillo and Austin, from the Junk Cathedral to the Cadillac Ranch to a rash of bizarre street signs to the Floating Mesa... just TONS of stuff.

Keep em' coming....

I lived in Lincoln most of my life.  Nothing much to do there.

The Grand Canyon is in Arizona.

Yeah, thanks.  I'd never thought of using Google.  I'd only used it to research your pathetic post count.  Don't make me slap your dark, disgusting face!

Ridgeback - on the contrary, I found 4 or 5 weird things to see and do in Lincoln, NE.  Not a shit-ton of stuff, but easily an afternoon's worth.
