Hit 240-245kph (151mph) in my Subaru WRX driving in Nevada to Vegas. Was expecting to hit the limiter but never did. Was still gaining speed but had to slow down since there was a big rig coming up.

Did 175kph in a 96 Chevy Cavalier, hit the limiter and that thing was shaking so badly I thought it was going to crumble into pieces, whereas the WRX was solid as fuck even at 240+.

Got a speeding ticket for doing 240km/h in a 60km zone when I was a kid. GSXR 1100. It was about 3am with a full moon, nice clear night on a strip of brand new highway with no traffic around and I get busted. What an idiot. :(

In my defense, I would have just left. But I was almost out of gas so I pulled over. The cop was all impressed with my bike's abilities. He had a genuine smile as he was writing that ticket. :(

Also...My first car back in the 80's was a Formula Trans Am with a 350 all done up. I would do 110 backing out of my driveway with that thing. :)

130 mph in a Trans Am (no video) and 120 mph in an M3 during the first week of May, which I've posted the video from a few times.

when i was a kid, i had a '77 camaro with a straight-six and a m-15 three-speed. my other buddy, had a 72 camaro rs with a 307- auto. i used to out drive him and win 8 times out of ten. for graduation, his dad bought him a 350+ hp crate motor and his mom bought his paintjob. pretty funny, because my dad's racer-buddy ups'd me the 2-2bbl intake, headers, rear-end gear, and springs he used when he raced that class.

i feel bad for continually raping him on the curves and on the straights. he sold that car shortly afterward, and the chick that bought it blew it up running it without oil.

for a staight-6, three speed, i could only hit about 125, but it ran out of gear. before the gear and mods, it could still hit 110+ with the 1-bbl

150 or slightly higher, in my 68 Camaro with a 454, 400 trans, brand new Goodyear Eagles all around/ We made the trip from Midland Michigan to Denver in 18 hours, I averaged about 110. We looked for cars to race the entire trip there and back, no one touched us. Made it all the way back into mid Michigan and got pulled over for doing 65 in a 55. My best friend is still pissed off at me 20 years later for never letting him drive on that trip, I didn't trust him and he knew it of course. He crashed quite a few cars in his time.

On the highway, in my Infiniti G35, from Beaumont to Houston on I-10. I have topped, guessing ~145+mph,I stopped looking down at 138mph. Slowing down to 100mph makes you feel like you are going 20mph and takes a while, crazy mind tricks. Looking back this was pretty stupid, but I had top of the line tires, and the road was empty for as far as i could see and even had a friend ahead to give me a heads up for cops or other cars.

At Texas Motor Speedway, I drove an actual NASCAR at 155mph with 9 other cars on the track with passing allowed, great fun! Curves at that speed are insane with the tunnelvision.

as a side-note, my ex-father-in-law's sidekick let me pilot his 28' douglas skater pickle fork  twin 300hp outtboard at 120+ mph up and down a local lake after a rainstorm. no one on the lake, slight ripple, perfect.

the dude's brother let me wind his double-blower motor 30 scarab to the tune of 110 out on lake michigan in 2-4 footers.

to tell the truth,  pavement is tame compared to the water.

after i sold my hot-rod boat,  the closest excitement i could find was drunk rally driving down logging/forest roads in the wee hours. never encountered another veihicle or person. never wrecked, but when i hit pavement and whipped it sideways onto the side of the road, i seriously started driving like an old lady for the remaining 20 miles to where i was going.

NEWS CENTER) -- It is no longer unusual for Maine State Police to ticket motorists for driving over 100 miles an hour. In his monthly roundup of police activity, Public Safety Dept. spokesman Steve McCausland cites three such cases.

Police say Leda Thompson of Houlton was driving 110 mph when she was stopped in New Limerick on July 12. Thompson was also charged with Operating Under the Influence.

The other two speeding arrests came within minutes of each other. A motorcyclist was stopped after Biddeford police et up a roadblock at the exit in their city. The motorcyclist, who is from Massachusetts, is accused of driving 111 mph.

A few minutes later, Trooper Leonard Bolton stopped a car on the turnpike after State Police received several reports of a car driving erratically. The driver was charged with OUI and speeding. Investigators say the driver was going 116 mph. The driver in that case is also from Massachusetts.

About 150mph in the Holden Monaro (that's Pontiac GTO for you stealing Sepos) before I sold it.

Got pretty close to the magic 200mph on my worked CBR1000RR. Gone well passed it on my mates worked Hayabusa but the speedo only goes to 300kph.

sol manila -  i regularly used to top 100. amost daily. i also learned that pontiac sunfires are limited to 105. the first time it happened, i thought i blew the motor.

Yep.  I did the same thing with a Ford Contour at right around 105 when the car governor kicked in.   Thought I blew the motor.  That's the fastest I've gone.  Pretty sad.  My father has driven his Shelby GT 500 150+ mph and he's over 70 years old.

About 125 in my 300zx twin turbo years ago. I was in a Toyota Supra that had over 600 HP and my buddy had it over 150, I was seriously freaked out by it though. I drive about 10 over the speed limit or so usually though. Pretty conservative driver.
