Took my girl guitar shopping the other day. She's been playing for about three weeks on my first guitar, which was a hundred dollar piece of shit. I figured I'd buy a better acoustic, since I've been playing my strat lately, and when/if she loses interest I'll get a better guitar.

This is the one she liked. I played it, and it was fine. Not sure about the high pressure laminate stuff.

Thoughts?

Buy a Seagull S-6. Amazing guitars at lower cost then what you are about to spend.

Ask about them in your local shop and they will all tell you that they are fantastic guitars.

Solid top guitars.

I have an S-12 (12 string).

I've played quite a few seagulls at another music store in town, and liked them. I'll be bringing her there as well. Guitar Center had two that sucked. One was too big for her, and the other had strings that were so fucked up and rusty it was unplayable.

She liked this one because it had a smaller body, so I'm looking for something similar I suppose.

You can buy a solid wood guitar for $600.00. The Blueridge Auditoriums are great for the money. Yamaha makes great guitars for the dough. Never been crazy about segulls but they are very popular.

Nice guitar, how does it sound? Not a bad price for a Martin.
Like Hillbilly said, the Blueridge line has some great guitars at decent prices too.

That looks like a pretty cool little guitar but I really know nothing about HPL.

Got her a mini-jumbo by Seagull. It plays well, sounds pretty good and she likes it. It's not that small though, but even if she doesn't stick with it, I'll keep it.

Dude I have another post about Jumbo's on this forum. I was considering buying a Seagull Mini-Jumbo. You messing around with me by saying you bought one?

In a few days once you play it again and again write a review here so I can read it.

Cool! Seagulls make great stuff for the dough! Right now is truly a buyers market for guitars (among other things). I can`t believe some of the deals out there right now. NOW is the golden age of guitars with all the killer Luthiers and great deals.

They're pretty good quality for a cheaper acoustic. I'm a big Martin fan. I've got 2 and I couldn't imagine buying another brand. (maybe Taylor someday)

I got to play the jumbo again yesterday. Great sounding guitar. The girl hasn't been practicing, so I'm pretty close to confiscating it for my personal use.
