I've hooked up with three guys who have the highest level of teaching skill I've found in the area. Scott Whittish, Andrew Sinadinos and Jerry Trainor. They all are in their late 40s, but can show you how to throw someone "Greco-style" from any position. They have taken my greco to a new level.

I've added a little MMA slant to it, for that is my focal point of coaching, but they adapt well. Right now it's only myself a heavyweight MMA fighter from Boston and a couple of kids. So it's a good time to come before wrestling season begins.

I thought I had a good clinch/greco game, but these guys are picking me apart like I've never stepped on the mat.

They focus on teaching "technique" to the highest degree it drives me crazy sometimes, but that will improve me as a coach.

Stop by, at American Martial Arts and Fitness US27/State Rd. Mon and Wed from 6-8pm.

They will help you on any "specific" skill improvement you need.

So is basic instruction out of the question since it's not specific? I don't have any greco experience.

I would like some help with handles that I could use in judo. Stuff like establishing good grips (not gi grips) and defending hip throws when I close the distance. I could also use some help working inside and establishing control over defensive postures. Are these within the realm of what you guys are doing? -ken
