Hey guys, learned an expensive lesson last week. A lot of motorbikes/quads etc are using a newer style of battery called AGM. Absorbed glass matte.

When setting up these batteries you add the electrolite and let it soak in for at least two hours (overnight is better). Then connect it to Smart charger on it's lowest setting to charge. They can't take the heat build up or overcharging a conventional charger would do even on trickle since it won't stop and will gas off the battery. Make sure the shop you buy it from understands this or you will be buying another one in 2-3 months.

Guess it's time to retire my big old battery charger and pick up a little Ctek 3300.

I found a few motorsports websites suggesting the 3300, $79 CDN.

From what I understand as long as it has the words "smart" you're good.
