Digital work from start to finish. Not too sure about it, feels rushed and it was a bit but I do like the blurry Batman in the foreground.

I think that Batman gets lost against all of the darkness. Some rim lighting would help him pop.

Cheers Odysseyroc, I had a go at putting a rim on it (no Beyonce joke required)probably went too subtle but I was worried the darker part would lose it's shadow and look out of place.

Batman definitely shows up more now though, thanks for the tip.

those are actual half tones.I airbrushed on a layer, duplicated the file and converted it to bitmap with eliptical halftones.

I'm going to have to play around with that see what I come up with, it's a nice effect.

At the moment i'm loving Fco Placenia's work on Invincible and Haunt, been messing about with airbrush and harder brush for highlights (like I think he does) for fun, not too sure how he gets his shadows like he does I imagine just with a low opacity, possibly on another layer.

Fco's WORK BELOW!

You can do that with lasso selections and airbrush, overlapping the shapes

It's actually a pretty quick way to do it. I'd have to see the high res file, but it looks like he might feather the selections.

I put this together for you real quick, to show you 3 levels of cuts with the lasso and airbrush tools. This isn't my normal style, and I don't think the shapes I chose are real interesting, but it should give you an idea of what to do.
