I made it my first year without really taking a single day off.

I am taking next week though and hope to take a few more days over the holidays.

Probably about 5 if you skip holidays and weekends and days like the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I worked my first 4 years before taking anything other than one day off a time.

In 12 years of practicing law I have only once taken a full Monday-Friday vacation.

I am in my 17th year of practice, and have taken a full Monday - Friday vacation about 5 times. I tend to take long weekends. In all, I suppose I take off about 2 weeks a year.

My first couple of years working at small firms I don't think I took a single full day off. Could leave earlier every now and then on a Friday or something, but couldn't just up and take a day or 2 off in a row.

My brother and I started our own practice this summer and unfortunately we have such little business that we end up with a pretty flexible schedule... =( Just getting by.
