I saw an ad for this in a law enforcement organization mag (can't remember which one);

www.privacyforcops.org

There's also another company doing something similar called;

www.policeprivacy.org

For a fee, they generate letters from you to the 20-30 data vendors that compile databases of public info, like zabasearch.com or LexisNexis.  These databases are how someone might track you down even if you're number and address are unlisted by the phone company.  These letters allow you to 'opt out' of allowing them to carry your info, and the info of your wife and/or children!  There's a California law that allows this for LEOs.

I think this is important safety measure that all LEOs should look into.  My $0.02.
