Dave Herman TKO’s Don Frye at Shark Fights 6

In what could be described as a passing of the torch, a young lion slayed an old bull at Shark Fights 6 this evening.

It took heavyweight knockout artist Dave “Pee Wee” Herman all of one minute into the opening round to leave MMA legend Don “The Predator” Frye battered and bruised with a volley of punches that ultimately forced the stoppage.

The two squared off in the main event of Shark Fights 6: Stars and Stripes, which was held in Amarillo, Texas.

I dont like seeing these guys like Frye and Kerr having to fight up and comers anymore. There needs to be a legends division somewhere where guys like Frye can fight guys they can still compete with.

I'm with Malachy. If your going to have an article on an event, put the dame winners and losers are the end of the article, like sherdog does.

Wasn't Pat Healy fighting on this card?

You're saying its weird to say "slayed" because he didn't actually kill him?

I don't know if you've noticed but Dave Herman isn't a lion and Frye isn't a fucking bull.

It actually looked like Frye had Herman hurt at first. He should have stayed on it just a little longer. The knockout by Gerald was pretty awesome.

While a few fighters like Randy defy the odds, older fighters need to realize when it's time to hang up their mma gloves, Frye has been at that stage for several years now.

Watched it streaming yesterday (once they finally got it running). For a brief moment it looked like he could still stand with Herman, but Herman made quick work of him shortly after.

Was sad to see, always loved Frye. I have to say Herman's mustache was pretty awesome though.

Was it a "Loser gets their moustache shaved in the ring post-fight" stipulation?
