Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster.Just thought I would let everyone know about our novice event in December:I am working on our long coming Cage MMA tournament for December 5.the event will be in two parts:Part 1 - afternoon tournament to be run under modified “c-class” rules and only novice fighters (2 fights or less) will be eligible. All fighters will wear mma shin pads and mma sparring pads so safety is priority. weight divisions will apply and this tournament will also include JUNIOR divisions (no head contact) for those coaches with young ones who want to have a go at MMA. Our aim is to give as many people as possible the chance to compete in MMA rules no matter what the background and the rules should even suit students from Kung Fu, Freestyle and other styles other than pure MMA. all fights to be in the CagePart 2 - evening low key fight show with a “main event” card of sorts with any “b” class matches we can make with the “undercard” being all the final matches of the tournament earlier in the day so the newbies get some glamour and noise for their hard work. All fights to be in the Cageanyone interested please email me on robmcintyre@austarnet.com.au so I can send you out the full details in a few weeks when we have them finalised. Thanks,Rob Mc - Gladstone QLD

Thanks Justin,

we will be no XFC promotion for sure but it should be great fun. we have already had a MASSIVE response for this, so I would say there is a big call for these novice tournaments in a cage to give everyone a few goes at c-class before fighting up in b or a rules. a great way for juniors to get going in mma as well - an important thing for the future of MMA in oz.

I also hope that other styles have a go as well because I have seen some freestyle karate's and kung fu's do very well in c-class MMA as and it would be great for the tournament.

please note that the date is the 5th of December not the 12th as is in the title - I can't edit the title :(
