Hi fellow food enthusiasts.

Anyone on here have a Komoda style grill (Big Green Egg, or Bubba Keg?)

Just got the new bubba keg grill and love it. I use the BGE lump charcoal and have been using it the past few times I have gone tailgating.

Have always used gas in the past, but I really like the flavor of the (lump) charcoal. Even roasted a whole chicken this past weekend, and it turned out great.

Usually just cook burgers, brats, and sandwich steaks on it while tailgating, but cooked the bird on Sunday and it was very tasty.

Looking forward to hearing from others.

d0mm3r..

Thanks for the post. Have heard great things about the BGE!

Do you mind if i ask which one you have and how much did you pay for it?

Couple of things I liked about the bubba keg. It is made of steel and is easily transported in my Reese hitch to the tailgate lot. Have only used it for two weeks, but like it a lot.

Would like to hear what you have cooked on the BGE.

Thanks,

I have the large BGE.  I use it for pretty much everything except if I do a really large quantity of something.  The Bubba Keg grill looks cool, especially the tailgate feature, but I doubt the two are similar at all, except for the basic shape.

I picked up a Large BGE at an eggfest for ~$575. I have cooked a lot of stuff on the Egg: burgers, dogs, sausages, steaks, all types of cuts of chicken, Thanksgiving turkey, pork shoulder, brisket, tri tips, ABTs (stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos), breakfast sausages, bacon explosions. I guess fish is the only thing I haven't Egged, mostly because I don't eat a lot of fish. I feel I could cook almost anything on it, and have loved every single thing that has come off it.
