Hollywood park casino has a bad beat jackpot: quads over quads. I'm holding pocket 9's against pocket Q's. Flop comes Q-Q-9. Two cards to come and no one at the table had a 9.

Total would have been $100,000 with $40,000 going to the loser of the hand. Instead I just lost my stack.

The good news is that, after rebuying, I had one of my better sessions and left up $1200. :)

When you lose pots like that do you question your faith in humanity? I know I do

About a week ago I had quad 10's beat by quad aces. Unfortunately it was on Stars and there was no jackpot.

A few jackpot stories from when I was propping:

I was at the table when a friend of mine had close to a 50% chance of hitting a jackpot on the last card. Would have been worth about $7,000 for my friend and about $800 for me. It took a few weeks for my friend to stop complaining about it.

On the turn, one player bet and before the other player could act, the dealer burned and turned too soon...and the river would have made a jackpot. The floorman was called over and he said "complete the turn action, then shuffle the card back into the deck and put out a new river. Different river came up and everyone yelled at the dealer until she left the box crying.

Sickest river ever: At our club it was aces full of 10's or better beat by quads and all 4 hole cards have to play. On the turn the board is AA7A One player has JJ and the other has AQ so it's a jackpot...until the river comes a king and counterfits the kicker.
