You expect to find Tony in martial arts magazine.
You expect to find him in police and military journals.
But "Reader's Digest?"
Yes. The October 2009 issue of "Reader's Digest."
It's vintage Tony, with some things that were new to me but were just so entirely Tony: ways to practice your moves without actually practicing your moves in every day life.
1)Climb stairs. Every time you climb you're practicing a knee thrust.
2)Adjust your seat belt harness. You're throwing an elbow.
3)Push-ups. You're doing a palm strike.
4)Squeeze a mellon. You're developing thumb and finger gouges.
I also want to bring to your attention the book "Crime Signals" by David Givens, Ph.D; if it's been discussed elsewhere I apologize for the repetition.
Remeber Tony's 3 Ds: Detect, Defuse, Defend. This book is graduate level Detection. It goes through verbal, non-verbal, physical cues for many criminal situations, including violence, like Gavin DeBecker dd in "The Gift Of Fear" but actually quantifying the signals. I recommend it highly.
