I was given a farm raised lamb shoulder roast, bone in, about 4lbs. I haven't dealt with lamb much, so not sure what to do with it.

Only thought so far is barbacoa. Any suggestions?

I realize this is probably too late, but my first thought would be to smoke it like a brisket.  Lamb handles sorta like beef.  I've never smoked or tasted a beef shoulder because nobody sells them and they are gigantic, but I've seen it done before on BBQ University.

Well,

It is marinating now, and will be barbacoa on Sunday for playoff football. Will snap some pics and post recipe if it turns out.
