Anyone think these are girls car? The previous design def was, but the new ones are pretty sweet looking. Maybe a poor mans A5 or R8. I know they are not that fast, but they look a lot better than they used to

Yes it definitely looks like a girls car, and that includes the new design as well. So does the Mercedes SLK. Even the AMG ones look like girl cars.

Sounds like you want a small coupe...

For $38k, you can look into the 328i coupe or the 135i coupe. 135i coupe still looks like a girl's car to me, but it does look more badass. All white 1 with black BBS slammed does look mean.

It's funny my buddy has a 135i and his girl has a Audi TT S-line. So I got a chance to check them out. But everyone at work said "for a chick car, it looks mean" when she stopped by one day. His girl is an accountant and the TT was all decked out, she said she paid around $50k for it. Dayum

Hmmmmm.... You have 40k to play with and want a sports coupe. You could get a TT and let everyone know you're out of the closet.

Or, you could buy this instead. Also a sports coupe, also AWD, maybe used but its the difference between getting sweaty balls and hot gold diggers.

Thats cause it was posted a month ago and the ad has timed out, but it was a mid 2000's carrera 4s, I think with 25k miles or so. There are tons of used P cars with under 50k miles and costing under 40k. And I'd venture to say most men would rather drive a used 911 than a new TT. :D

Some more examples and these are just the 4S, go with the RWD versions and there are even more. Hopefully you'll see this before they time out, but if not just go to los angeles craigslist and filter by carrera 4s.

Pretty much any 996 or 997 porsche is awesome. They usually have very low miles despite the age, and the styling is classic even if the car is 10+ years old. At the worst you're doing 0-60 in 5 seconds. People drive around in brand new honda accords and trade them in every 5 years, they could be driving a porsche. Shhhhh.... Don't tell them. :D

yeah cause the upkeep on a 10yr old 911 isn't even really a budgetting factor

tires are cheap
insurance is really low
any hack with a wrench can do the maintenance

Insurance on a 10 year old 911 isn't much more (if any) than a new accord.

Tires I'll give you.

Extended or aftermarket warranty.

Sure, costs might be a little higher over 5 years than an accord but you're driving a porsche instead of a honda. If an extra $500-1k for tires or maintenance a year is gonna break you you probably shouldn't even drive the honda. :D
