Looking to buy a new compact .45 for carry/conceal weapon. I am looking at the Sig Sauer Elite, HK Compact USP, or Glock 30. Any opinions on these or experiences?

Why .45?

Glock all the way.

They've got the G36 now.
Single-stack .45.

My personal fav for a small 45 was the glock 30, that I carried for about 4 years. Pretty small gun to hold 11 rounds. The recoil was actually a bit lighter than my commander sized 1911's. The sig 220 is a full sized pistol that holds 8 rounds, the 245 isn't made anymore to my knowledge. So on your list the only two compacts are the HK and the glock 30.

H&K specs: 7.2 in long, 5.59 in tall, 1.42 in wide, 1.58lbs
Glock 30: 6.77 in long, 4.76 in tall, 1.27 in wide, 1.49lbs

Both hold 10+1 rounds. Having shot both, I think the glock has less recoil and felt better, YMMV.

The glock 36 is the same length and height of the glock 30, but is 0.14 in narrower, reducing it's weight by 3.88 ounces and reducing it's capacity to 6+1 rounds.

I ended up going back to a glock 19 for carry though. I could put rounds on target a lot faster with the 9mm and held 5 more rounds than the 45, plus my wife carries a 9mm, so the ammo is the same.

Bought the Glock 30, and love it! Put 250 rounds through her the other day. Practiced 2 to the body 1 to the head drills at 25 feet. Did great!

Very nice. The glocks in 45 are sweet shooters.

Never was a big fan of the S&W semi autos until they came out with their 1911's.

6 rounds mkes it more comparable to the glock 36.

Side by side specs:

glock weight 20.11 oz or 1.257lbs, length 6.77 inches, height 4.76"
CS45 weight 23 oz or 1.438lbs, length roughly 6.5" (S&W doesn't give exact measurements), height not listed.

Cost: S&W msrp = $830, Glock msrp = $655

1.43lbs makes it almost as heavy as the 10 shot guns. Not a good trade off IMHO. YMMV.

I do not like anything but the Glock.

Sorry.

Wait, no I'm not.

Well if I offended anyone, then I am.

Demi I am right there with ya. Glocks are the easiest and best shooting for me. I have tried HK, Sig, Para, etc...Glocks are the best for me.

I usually carry a Glock 26,but on occasion, carry a Glock 30,if I feel the need & can wear the proper apparel for concealment.
