Jons Forsberg -
HAZ_10 - yes, he played consistently well at the highest level for man utd then Real madrid for 10 years along with england. he is the best striker and deliverer of a pass/cross the premiership and possibly world football has seen in a long time if not ever.

Madrid doesn't necessarily keep all the absolutely best players. They were called galacticos for a reason - had marquee names like fat Ronaldo, but those start weren't necessarily the best guys available.

I agree that they hung onto some players for too long eg ronaldo and roberto carlos for their names instead of seeking out younger players with high potentials. however Beckham was still playing quality football and was England captain when signed. shirt sales obviously helped lol.

top 5 no way but he was a world class footballer and the best crosser and long ball passer in the world when he was at his best but when he was at his best so were the likes of-
zidane
figo
nedved
ronaldo
roberto carlos
rivaldo
henry
del piero
giggs
keane
bergkamp
deschamps
ballack
stam
requilme
cannavaro
van nistleroy*
vieira
davids
seedorf

so there was a hell of alot of competition to be top 5 and im sure ive left alot of other players out

in terms of pure ball striking, best of his time.

overall, it's debatable. I would say yes, but I certainly can understand the argument against him.
