In his first fight since the Ultimate Fighting Championship terminated his contract, heavyweight Paul Buentello posted a dominating performance and scored a unanimous-decision win over Bryan Humes.

The latest show from the popular Texas-based promotion took place at Ector County Coliseum in Odessa.

Buentello, who went 0-2 in his latest UFC stint with losses to Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo, scored multiple knockdowns, scored frequently from the clinch, and dominated the ground action to pick up the victory.

Paul came in leaner and in better shape. He broke his hand (again)in the first rd. I've never seen him so motivated leading into a fight.

If Paul would have quit in the Kongo fight after his hand injury he'd probably still be in the UFC. Paul's not made that way and has the fighter mentality where mostly its more sport these days. I heard Hume was undefeated and trains full time in Vegas so he's no joke. Paul took this fight very serious where other fighters in his situation would have just shown up for a paycheck since it was a smaller circut show.

Props big buddy and see you this week.

How did Humes look? If you happen to get video of the fight, can you please post it?

GB exclusive seem to only be accurate when I'm drunk. Sorry gang, Paul didn't break his hand. He told me that hume was a stud and would have beat him if he didn't train as hard ad he did for this match.

Modern Day Messiah - hmmm, would paul have destroyed this guy without a broken hand? I didn't see the fight obviously but if wants back in the UFC he cannot decision people in minor league shows.

Grats on the win Paul and good luck with the hand!

The guy he fought had the same record as Todd Duffee, and he won with a broken hand. I'd say thats damn impressive.

Humes is no joke. He's been on the cusp of the big leagues for awhile now. Anyone have footage?
