First post over here, and what do you know? Rugby related.

Thought I'd keep everyone a bit up to date with Super 14[15]'s most successful team and its bid to just sign you if you're even remotely All Black material.

Israel Dagg, A more than likely first choice fullback for the All Blacks has decided to move from the Highlanders to join the Crusaders.

I don't actually remember the last time the Crusaders had an All Black full back, which is quite odd, but this starts the process of them creating a very dominant back line.

However that's not enough. It seems $BW has turned down the biggest contract in Union history from Toulon in order to go back to New Zealand for, a shock to anyone who follows the NRL, a pay cut. The rumoured location of the Kiwi turned Union money sponge? Christchurch.

Crusaders are looking to have an insane team going into the S15 season should these deals be sealed. You're looking at:
1)Ben Franks
2)Corey Flynn
3)Owen Franks
4)Sam Whitelock
5)Brad Thorn
6)Adam Thompson
7)Richie McCaw
8)Keiran Read
9)Kahn Fotuaili'i
10)Daniel Carter
11)Zac Guildford
12)Sonny-Bill Williams
13)Robbie Fruean
14)Sean Maitland
15)Israel Dagg

16)Wyatt Crockett
17)Hika Elliot/ADM
18)Chris Jack
19)George Whitelock
20)Andy Ellis
21)Colin Slade
22)Jared Payne

I for one welcome our new Christchurch based overlords.

On a sidenote, does this sub-forum also cover League too? I'd hate to have no outlet for my mass of random NRL + Superleague nonsense.

Ben Blair?

To $BW, fame and attention are almost as important as money.

Having Thorn in the side as a possible mentor would be a factor too.

Well, I believe his first reasoning was to follow Umaga. However it seems the lure of glory at Christchurch is too difficult to pass up. Easier to get noticed in a winning team.

He would be crazy to follow Tana to Counties, which is basically an impoverished Second Division province with poor facilities. The ground only seats something like 15,000 and is mainly grass embankments.

It's also in the catchment area for the Chiefs, which is usually the weakest Super14 franchise.

True, although the Highlanders are trying their best to become so bad people think they are an Aussie team.

Well, if you're going to push for the All Blacks, no better place to be.

Developing a synergy with Carter and also playing with the captain are too good to pass up.

Being in the most dominant Super14 team ever is a bonus, too.

as long as they smash all the SA sides, it will be well worth it. i notice waldron isnt on that team list. i think he is very under rated.

How is Leon MacDonald forgotten? I guess putting him at centre in the world cup erased him from everyones memories. rightfully so..
