After years of smoking cigars I fell in love with the taste that only Cuban cigars could offer. I'm a robusto guy so I've bought many a box of Partagas SD4, Ramon Allones Spec Select, Juan Lopez #2, etc. I've had some divine smoking experiences with Cohibas and Montes as well.

The problem is the construction inconsistencies. It seems like 30% of Habanos I light up have a tough draw. Its to the point where if I'm heading out to the backyard with a Habano, I need to bring a Padron for backup. After this last box of PSD4s, I say fuck it, I'm done with Habanos.

I will live out my remaining years enjoying the offerings of Padron, Tatuaje, Oliva, and Camacho.

Am I alone with this experience?

It's getting to be that way. At least 10% are going to have problems.

Forget what I said about Habanos. I just smoked a couple of Hoyo Epicure #2s and they were fantastic. A great medium smoke with lots intersting flavors, plus lots of Cuban twang, which I love.

Perfect draw and burn. Plus, they're pretty cheap ($143 for a box of 25).

I've noticed some inconsistency in Habanos as well. Where are you getting them for that price?
