Being deployed to NOLA for the oil spill response. Where should I train? For the record, I'm broken right now - rolled a rib - but would still like to do SOMETHING. Sport focus, but gi or no gi is immaterial.

Where are you staying? There's only a handful of gyms in the metro area.

Not 100% certain where I'll be staying yet. Where I am working is supposed to be near the superdome, so not too far from there, I would imagine.

In that case, I would recommend NOLA BJJ in Uptown. From the Dome, it's probably about a 10 minute drive with light traffic. Gracie Barra based camp that produces some local talent. I would train there if I lived closer to that side of the city.

They're opening a second location in Lakeview? That's my neighborhood and would LOVE to resume training. Where at in Lakeview?

On Canal Blvd in the old rock climbing gym.The combat sports portion of the gym should be ready in a couple of weeks.

Sweet! I'm at Harrison and Bellaire, that's maybe 5 minutes away! I can't wait to gt back on the mat.
